Space Saving - 30% lighter & 50% less bulky than other cotton towels thanks to the airy curves of the open weave. Gets better over time as the waffle weave gets deeper and thirstier with use. Lightweight and storage-friendly—about 30% lighter and 50% less bulky versus average terry towels. Machine washable - Fabric gets softer & thirstier with use (and we pre-wash our towels, so your first wash is on us). Safe for Skin Care. 100% USA-grown extra-long-staple Supima cotton. GARMENT WASHED Onsen towel is garment washed (multiple times) to bring out the natural softness of our premium cotton, without the chemical bath.

SURPRISINGLY LIGHTWEIGHT We learned that premium cotton and a curvy weave make for an exceptional towel in a lightweight body. A heavier towel sounds fancy, but the extra weight makes it less breathable and slower to dry.

DURABLE Twice as strong as regular cotton, the long fibers resist breaking or tearing which results in an incredibly resilient product.

I have always purchased the plush, thick towels but decided to give the Onsen brand a try after reading about them on Wirecutter. Now I'm a total convert. Of course, I washed before using and they fluffed up nicely. I find them to be soft enough, but of course with the waffle-like weave, they are not going to be like a plush towel. I LOVE that they do dry quickly! I have a thing about not having damp towels around. They are a bit pricey but a quality towel is worth it. I purchased a face and hand towel to try them out. Both are generously sized and larger than I thought they would be. Will definitely be replacing my plush towels with more Onsens. The grey color is perfect for my decor. If anything changes, I'll update my review. For now, highly recommend.
